Your Key Responsibilities

Summary of The Role  The Accountant is responsible for managing day-to-day financial operations and ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of the organization’s financial records and reporting. The role supports effective financial management through maintaining the general ledger, preparing reconciliations, processing transactions, and supporting month-end and year-end close activities.  The ideal candidate will have hands-on accounting experience in Dubai/UAE and a strong understanding of accounting practices, VAT requirements, corporate tax requirements, and relevant statutory and regulatory obligations. The position requires strong attention to detail, sound technical accounting knowledge, and the ability to work independently while supporting wider finance operations.  Role Responsibilities 
  • Generate and distribute accurate and timely customer invoices in accordance with agreed terms. 
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records across the general ledger. 
  • Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, prepayments, and other adjustments in accordance with applicable accounting standards. 
  • Perform regular bank, credit card, and balance sheet reconciliations and resolve discrepancies promptly.
  • Support month-end and year-end closing activities, ensuring all required entries and reconciliations are completed accurately and on time.
  • Assist in preparing financial statements, management reports, and supporting schedules. 
  • Manage and monitor accounts payable and accounts receivable activities, including supplier invoices, customer invoices, collections, and payments.
  • Review and process expense claims and supplier payments in line with company policies and controls.
  • Maintain appropriate financial records and documentation to support VAT, corporate tax, audit, and statutory requirements. 
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, cash flow monitoring, and variance analysis. 
  • Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules, reconciliations, and required documentation.
  • Maintain organized financial documentation and records for audit and reporting purposes. 
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, and systems. 

Required Skill and Qualifications

Essential Skills, Knowledge & Experience 
  • Minimum 3–5 years of relevant accounting experience, with proven hands-on experience working in Dubai/UAE. 
  • Strong understanding of UAE accounting practices, VAT compliance, and relevant statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • Working knowledge of UAE VAT calculations, reconciliations, documentation, and filing processes. 
  • Sound knowledge of general accounting, bookkeeping, AP, AR, reconciliations, and month-end closing.
  • Experience preparing and posting journals, accruals, prepayments, and other accounting adjustments.
  • Experience with accounting software; Xero, QuickBooks or similar systems preferred.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting requirements, including IFRS.
  • Strong numerical and analytical ability with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. 
  • Competency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and resolve financial discrepancies. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Effective organization and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

  • General Work Hours: Between 9:00AM to 6:00PM Dubai time – 45hrs/week.
